Something wrong with an application?
MarcoPiccone.NET
I can’t see iEphemeris in my language
It should depend on your local settings; if you can't see the English translation, and your device language is set to English (and I suppose is the case), you can try to restart your iPhone; this allow a user from Australia to switch to English .
Unfortunately there is a number of people experiencing this problem, and I can't understand why; more, it seems that this issue affects only a subset of English users. I've just opened a ticket at Apple to understand what's the matter.
If restarting does not solve the problem, an update has been post and it will be available in these days; in this upcoming version you've got the choice to set English in the option pane.
Since version 0.6 this issue will be solved definitively; check here.
I want iEphemeris in my native language
No problem; send me an e-mail and I send you a list of words to translate.
Next release will include your own language.
I can’t scroll between the Moon and Sun page (Implemented)
It is normal; I did not implemented this functionality yet.
It is not a standard behaviour, and it requires extra work. Therefore I preferred to fix the bugs and improve the localization for version 0.5
New. The scroll is available since version 0.6
Sidereal Time is not correct (Fixed)
This bug is due to an angle which is not reduced in the range 0 <-> 360 degrees.
Fixed since version 1.1
Sidereal time is not displayed in 24 hour format (Fixed)
The formatting of the sidereal time is now local settings independent.
Fixed since version 1.1
Sunrise and Sunset are not displayed in local format in the country where is in use the 12 hours format (AM - PM) (Fixed)
The formatting of the Sunrise, Transit and Sunset are now dependent on local settings.
Fixed since version 1.1
Some values are in radians and not in degrees (Fixed)
All values concerning angles are now in degrees.
Fixed since version 1.1
( Bug list updated to the 2nd of March 2009 )
Declination shown without the minus sign (Fixed)
The declination is shown as 00 deg xx' yy" but should be -00 deg xx' yy" instead.
Fixed since version 1.1
F.A.Q.
Longitude is not in the range 0° - 360° (Fixed)
I did not check if the range was correct; it could happens that angles are above 360°.
Fixed since version 1.2
Why there is no GPS option, and moon window does not fit App Store screenshot? (Released)
These features are available since version 1.2 ( which has been posted the 20th of December 2008 ) how it’s specified in the application description of the Store.
Unfortunately the application is still under review, and when it will be available depends on Apple Review Team.
I’m really sorry about this, but there is nothing that I can do.
When a new update is posted you need to upload the binary, and at the same time to change the screenshots and summarize what’s new; the screenshots are immediately updated in the Store, but the application no!
I think Apple should revise this way of doing, waiting for the application to be approved before updating the description; but for the moment this is the state of the art.
Anyway don’t worry; all update are for free, so these features will be available very soon.
It happens that year in UTC date is wrong; 2009 instead of 2008. This issue seems to happen only the 29th, 30th and 31st of December.
I’m fixing this issue and it wil be solved in version 0.8
( Bug list updated to the 29th of Mars 2009 )
City name does not change until restart (Fixed)
It happens that changing the name of the city in the option panel, the new name does not appear in the Main Window.
A workaround, for the moment, is to restart the application; this way the new name appears as expected.
The problem has already been solved and it will be delivered in version 1.3
Time zones list is incomplete (Fixed)
City Zone abbreviation returns only one occurrence; this way if different zones have the same name, not all of them are listed.
A fix listing all cities known by the OS has been released; this issue is then solved since version 1.5
Time zones is not saved in preferences (Fixed)
City Zone abbreviation is always set to CET in preferences; this issue dose not affect the right functioning of the application because the value used is the one in the main screen (correctly set).
This issue is then solved since version 1.5
Loading time increased since version 1.4 (To solve)
The application takes a long time to load due to the database; I’m working to a workaround speeding up the loading time.
Elevation always set to zero (0) (To solve)
If you change the elevation for a preset location the value is not refreshed in the main screen; the solution is underway.
Some users report a possible issue with “Realtime” option; I’m not able to reproduce this problem, but if it’s the case please try to uninstall iEphemeris and then synchronize again your device. This should solve any issue.
UTC date is wrong when turning New Year day (Solved)
Perhaps an issue with date & time? (Can’t reproduce)
To uninstall tap down on any icon for a few seconds; when the cross appears, click on the cross at top left corner.
Then open iTunes and synchronize again your device; a brand new iEphemeris instal should solve any problem.
